Crisis Response Models Part 4: Law Enforcement Responses to People with Opioid Use Disorders

New Webinar:Law Enforcement Responses to People with Opioid Use Disorders

Latest in SAMHSA's GAINS Center's Five-Part Crisis Response Models Virtual Learning Community

July 9, 2020, 3-4:00 p.m. ET

Law enforcement officers often experience firsthand how the mental health and substance use crises affect their communities. With the number of law enforcement interactions involving opioids on the rise, there is now a greater push to train about opioid use disorders and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). In 2018, the CIT ECHO program in New Mexico developed an opioid-specific curriculum for officers. This webinar will examine the curriculum that was developed, the impact on officer knowledge and responses, and new partnerships established as a result of the focus on opioids and MAT.

Immediately following the webinar, there will be a 60-minute open-format discussion group for webinar participants to take a deeper dive into the material and present questions to the speakers. Come prepared with questions for a one-on-one conversation.
