FADAA, in partnership with the Florida Department of Children and Families, is offering a virtual alternative to the Road to Recovery: Purposeful Post-Treatment Planning Workshops. If you previously registered for the in-person workshops you must complete another registration for this virtual training.

Substance use disorders have similar genetic and environmental risk factors, etiologies, and relapse rates to other chronic conditions, including diabetes, and hypertension; indicating the need for longer-term treatment and recovery support services. A growing body of evidence indicates that approaches that support continuity of care, as well as provide continuing recovery planning and aftercare services, are more cost-effective and lead to better recovery outcomes.

Using online interactive features, including breakout discussion groups, this tele-workshop will help providers practice key steps in continuing recovery planning, contextualize the role of Recovery Coaches in discharge planning and aftercare services, identify trauma-informed discharge practices and aftercare services for survivors of trauma (including domestic violence), and integrate the evidence-supported intervention Recovery Management Checkups (RMC) as a core component of aftercare services using existing resources.

Who should attend?

This workshop is designed for clinicians, clinical supervisors, program managers, prevention agencies, community coalitions and executives in substance abuse and mental health agencies, Managing Entities and DCF program staff.
