Addressing crises is inevitable when working in a substance use disorder treatment setting. A crisis can manifest in disruptive behaviors in the treatment setting, escalating tension between treatment recipients, or a return to harmful substance use. They may be brought about by dealing with a sudden loss of housing or employment, struggling to maintain an important relationship, or balancing the daily stresses of life without using substances to cope. This webinar will focus on preparing our treatment teams to proactively manage these situations effectively, to reduce the likelihood that individuals will disengage from our programs or that situations escalate to the point that warrants administrative discharge. Restraints and trauma-informed care principles will be also be discussed.

Who should attend?
This webinar is designed for clinicians, behavioral health professionals, clinical supervisors, program managers, prevention agencies, community coalitions, Certified Recovery Support Specialists (CRSS), Certified Recovery Peer Specialists (CRPS), and executives in substance abuse and mental health agencies, Managing Entities, and DCF program staff.
