  • Learn the basic concepts of the ASAM dimensions.
  • Learn how to incorporate ASAM dimensions when assessing level of care.  
  • Learn the stages of change model. 
  • Learn the basic mechanisms of action of anti-cravings medications. 
  • Learn the benefits of Medicated Assisted Treatment and common misconceptions. 
  • Acquire information on where to find additional information on evidence-based treatment. 
Who should attend?

This webinar is designed for clinicians, clinical supervisors, program managers, prevention agencies, community coalitions and executives in substance abuse and mental health agencies, Managing Entities and DCF program staff.

Presented by: Charles L. Smith, DO, is an addictionologist at Recovery First Treatment Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was previously a family medicine physician in West Virginia for 26 years before treating the disease of addiction. Spurred by his own recovery, Dr. Smith is an expert on the biological aspect of addiction and the intricate effects of alcohol and mind-altering substances on the brain.
