The Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association (FADAA), a recipient of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Grants (Opioid STR) funding, is working collaboratively with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) to increase access to treatment, reduce unmet treatment need, and reduce opioid overdose related deaths through prevention, treatment and recovery activities for opioid use disorder.

To advance the Opioid STR, DCF approved physician peer mentors and FADAA staff members who provide support for the Opioid STR will conduct four statewide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) meetings. During the meetings, the doctors will conduct a MAT Opioid Use Disorder training and answer any related questions. The meeting will cover topics including, MAT for Opioid Use Disorder diagnosis, choosing medication, treatment modalities, stigma, upcoming State Opioid Response (SOR) priorities and other MAT topics.

Below are the locations and the dates for the meetings that will occur in March. You are invited to attend one of these incredibly informative presentations! However, if you attended one of the MAT for OUD Regional Meetings in January, there is no need to attend a March meeting, as the presentations will repeat the information presented in January.

Who should attend?
This meeting is designed for providers, child welfare workers, program managers, mental health agencies, substance abuse agencies, Managing Entities, and stakeholders that provide or are interested in medication assisted treatment.
