Resource Center - General Information

FADAA... Your Resource People

FADAA serves as the RADAR (Regional Alcohol and Drug Awareness Resource) Center for alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) information needs for the State of Florida. In that capacity, the Association receives and organizes volumes of information from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI). In the form of print materials, surveys, guides, videocassettes, and other media, the information is from The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP), the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, and the U.S. Departments of Education and Labor.

In recent years, the Internet has changed the way the world does its work. Practitioners in the substance abuse field have moved more and more to this powerful vehicle. In response, FADAA is seeking to link the provider community and individuals through the FADAA web site for information and knowledge dissemination. With partial support for the Resource Center from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Safe and Drug-Free Communities Program and the Florida Department of Children and Families, FADAA strives to provide services that meet or exceed our level of funding support. We believe we have come a long way, and we are excited about our prospects for the future...which directly benefits the provider community and individuals in need of substance abuse treatment and prevention information across many domains and in many systems.

Note: Free materials and lending library services from the Resource Center are available to Florida Residents only.
