Florida is developing a corps of professional mentors and trainers to assist community anti-drug coalitions in mobilizing their communities for positive change.

Mentor/Trainers invited to participate in 2006 will receive free training in the Five Steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework Those who are successful and receive certification will be paired with developing coalitions for up to two years. Participants will receive travel reimbursement and an honorarium for their work.

If selected you will be required to sign a personal contract to assure your availability for training and mentorship. Your services will be needed for a minimum of two years. Continuing education will be provided to successful mentor/trainers.

If you would like to be considered for this program, please complete this application. You will need to be available April 11-14, 2006 for the initial round of training.

The Mentor/Trainer Leadership Corps is being coordinated with the Center for Prevention Research at Florida State University and the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association. It is part of the Florida Coalition Training Academy, a project of the Florida Substance Abuse Prevention Advisory Council and funded by the Department of Children and Families with a grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
